The San Diego/Imperial Geriatrics Education Center is one of 42 academic Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Programs across the country funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration.

Our Center is working to address the need for enhanced geriatrics education on Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias and Age-Friendly Healthcare in both San Diego and Imperial Counties in southern California.

Our goal? To maximize our impact on addressing care gaps and improving health outcomes for all older adults, strengthening training of the geriatric workforce, and building age- and dementia-friendly communities and healthcare systems.

We train primary care providers, health profession trainees, patients, families, caregivers, and direct care workers.
